Marketing online is a critical part of any marketing plan. Here are seven Internet-based marketing ideas you may not have thought about for your 2007 marketing plan:
Volunteer for Internet Interviews
Podcasts, Webcasts, blogs, RSS feeds and newsletters (ezines) are all venues for online interviews or discussions. You’ll want to approach publishers who regularly conduct interviews with guests of your caliber, so finding opportunities will take some research. Do this by searching general search engines (such as google.com) or directories. Some directories to get you started: podcast.net (podcasts), ezinehub.com (ezines), syndic8.com (RSS feeds/blogs).
Approach Bloggers Interested in Your Type of Product
Send your product to bloggers as a gift. You are doing this to expose your product to influencers in your category by giving them an opportunity to try it free (not to bribe or beg them to mention the product). If the bloggers like it, they may give it a mention in their blogs. Note that this is a subtle Internet marketing technique. Choosing to mention (or not mention) your product should be solely up to them.

In the world of internet marketing, there is one thing that every webmaster needs in order to be successful, traffic, without traffic you cannot make sales for your products, get clicks on your adsense ads, gain email subscribers or anything else that you may wish to achieve with your website. Traffic is the lifeline of every website on the internet.
The following seven methods for generating traffic are proven to achieve results and most can be implemented immediately:
Writing articles is an excellent way for generating traffic and backlinks to a website and it is also completely free to do. Writing a short, 400 - 900 word article does not take long to do and can bring in a lot of traffic if written well and distributed well. You should come up with a good title for your article as that is the part that entice the reader to view your article and you should give the reader a good reason to visit your website in the resource box. SUbmit your articles to as many article directories as you can and it may also be a good idea to contact publishers directly to ask if they would like to use it on their website or email list.

Okay, so we all know about blog directories. The question is, “What are the advantages to having your site listed?”. I asked myself this question when I started my own blog. It’s difficult to understand the real value of these directories when your blog is listing among thousands of others. However, if you can get in early - before a blog directory is fully populated, you stand a good chance of getting a really good position. The result can be very positive, giving you an edge in search results. The other thing to keep in mind is that many individuals who use the directory to find blogs are doing a general search or looking by category - if your blog is listed towards the top, you have a better chance of being noticed by the blog seeker. This can generate a good deal of traffic to your blog.
Have you ever wondered how some people’s websites come up number one for searches for things that happened the night before? You know things like Paris Hilton Cell Phone Gets Hacked or some American Idol Singer or something that happened in the news. Well I am going to let you in on a little secret. It is because the search engines have targeted these web sites as having fresh content and therefore sends their little search engine spiders to it constantly to read the new fresh content.
Search engines love content, the more the better. Especially if that content is on a page that changes everyday. That is why Blog sites such as mine are great for spider food. Think about it, little paragraphs of compact topics enriched with keywords and links. Everyday the person posts something about their life or some other subject. Once a search engine spider comes by and sees this fresh content it will notice the dates, maybe the file creation date or any and all changes from the last time it visited. So if you can get multiple spiders coming back weekly, daily or hourly you can instantly have an effect on search results.
