Scanning the news to day I see that Facebook is in court fighting for its life over who thought about it first claims and Myspace has close 29,000 profiles of known sex offenders. Is this the first signs of the death of social bookmaking and blogging?
Can it be that the bubble is about burst and we are all about to see the fallout of closer regulation on line relating to the freedom of content and speech for our online world?
Social networking and blogging are founded firmly on the ability to speak our minds and post it up as quickly as we can think about it. We can all post content to our blogs and social networking accounts in seconds.

A blog usually is a web page that contains brief, discrete hunks of information called posts. These posts are arranged in reverse-chronological order (the most recent come first) and each is uniquely identified by an anchor tag which is marked with a permanent link that can be referred to by others who wish to link to it.
A blog is a means of communication and there are many different types of messages carried by blogs. Some are nothing but pointers to other web sites, while others run long essays, some are personal diaries, others feature technology, and some are edited by one person, others by teams.
There are hundreds of thousands of blogs on the Internet, and new blogs are created every day. Can anybody and more importantly can you blog? There are plenty of options to make your own website. I will cover a few no cost, easy to set up sites. I will also discuss registering a domain name and choosing a hosting service.
A blog is essentially a website but with more functionality and there are quite a few sites that will allow you to set up a blog for free. Make your own website for free, it sounds to good to be true.
The trade off with free sites is they will usually display ads on your site unless you upgrade to their paid account option. You can try out a blog host for a couple of weeks and if you like the service you can either live with the ads or pay to upgrade your account.

Web logs, popularly known as Blogs, have become one of the hottest communication tools on the Web. Offering the opportunity for anyone to create their own free Web site, encouraging opinions and interaction, Blogs provide forums for individuals to create their own highly personal presentations to the Web audience, and for consortia of all types to experience the sort of online community feeling that was pioneered by early newsgroups and by the phenomenal success of AOL in the 1990s.
Blogs have reached into the corporate and government sectors as well. A prominent federal magazine suggests that some company employees spend more time Blogging than on personal e-mail, an average of over an hour a day. What started out as an outlet for teenage expression and grassroots journalism has turned into a lucrative communications tool for small and large businesses alike.

Could the blog possibly be the new pet rock of the 21st century? It appears that everyone has to have one! Everyday we are exposed to blogs, some serious and others completely ridiculous. One thing everyone can agree on is blogs are everywhere. It doesn’t matter where you are these days, you are bound to hear about or read somebody’s blog.
Bloggers come in all shapes and sizes, rich and poor, from every known profession and background, from every political party and opinion. You can find blog content in every possible category of interest.
There are people who own a blog, we all know who they are. How many times a day do you hear “check it out on my blog” or “be sure to check out this blog.” Then there are people who can’t wait to to read somebody’s blog everyday. Finally, there are people that spend all of their time commenting on blogs.
